What weapons do you favor to fight with and why?
Long sword, poll-axe, or footman’s mace. I like to use the traditional weapons of the foot-combat knight. I think it is very important to truly use these weapons first to gain a basic understanding of all the other weapons used. I can pick up any medieval weapon now and be confident enough to use it, because of the basic principals involved of the core training weapons. I also like to shoot the long bow and my cross bow as well, but it really wrecks havoc on the membership…(just kidding).

What's your inspiration for doing this type of combat/re-enactment?
I love anything to do with medieval and renaissance history, art, science, culture, you name it, I have probably researched it. As a lad, I loved reading the stories of King Arthur and his Knights, I always wanted to be one of them! I have a love of castles and architecture, and the idea of building one someday for my wife and I, is thrilling!
