How long have you been re-enacting?
Since the mid 1990’s, I got into it while I was in college. It was a good stress reliever and it challenged my extra energies.
What's your inspiration for doing this type of combat/re-enactment?
I always loved reading about medieval history and the tactics used in warfare. This is a form of fighting that people dream about when they watch movies like “Excalibur”, “The Messenger“ and others like them. If anyone is ever given the chance like I did, leap at it you will not regret it!
Any additional info you would like to share?
People see our demonstrations and think that it might be dangerous. We have a training hierarchy that ensures by the time you are in a suit of plate armour you will be confident and well knowledged in the arts. We would not allow someone who is not confident in their abilities to take the field until they are ready. This is not just re-enactment, this is real a martial art.
