The fighting arena was busy with a bunch of little "fighters" with new wood swords again. Seems like that's the new place to test out your weapons when you buy them. That is, if you are between 9 and 13 years old! Sir Gerolf was "mistaken" for a dragon in his black armour and was "slain" by a little gal who was promptly rewarded with a "jewel" by Sir Gerolf! Sunday wasn't so good with the rain and all, we couldn't fight because it was tooo dangerous slipping in the mud, so we apologize for that, but we needed to be safe because the next weekend is the BIG weekend!
Make sure you come out for Memorial Weekend's show! We will have 8 armoured fighters taking the field on Saturday and Sunday! What fun! See you at the fair!

Many individuals expressed interest in learning more about what we do, and hopefully we may be able to start a new chapter of Canis Bellum in the St. Louis area! Highlights of the weekend have to be the impromtu "challenge" by a young man of about 9 years old who had a brand new wooden waster. I asked him if he knew how to use it and he promptly replied, "Yes, I do!", and then he proceeded to run me around the arena! The crowd loved it! Then, all the little guys who had new wooden swords wanted to fight all the guys! Start 'em off young and they'll be using steel swords sooner! The other highlight was meeting "Sir Clisto" and his crew from Bristol Renn Fair! They are infamous in the Renn Fair world! What cool people! We have a few people that have new babies to take care of, and some older "babies" graduating this weekend! Huzzah to them! We went up today and finished the armourer's "hovel", removed the rest of the debris (which was alot), set up the armour table and built a table big enough to have 12 people sit around it! The entire fair grounds is really shaping up as well. Lots of new additions, remodeled buildings and ground work has been done. It looks great. This season will be the best! See you at the faire!

The guys spent the weekend ripping apart armour and putting it back together. It's amazing how much abuse this stuff takes, but in the end, you have to keep up with repairs. Safety first... Some of us got some new pieces of armour and we are incorporating those into our exisiting kits. Painted up some new shields, and acquired some more camp gear.
